Casting Call

Pilot Theatre are casting roles in our upcoming national tour of Noughts & Crosses.

We are holding an open audition process to cast the roles of Sephy and Callum.  We want to give everyone who wants to be considered for the roles the opportunity to be seen by the director and casting team, so we would like to invite applicants to submit a two minute (maximum) video which should include a brief introduction to yourself followed by an extract from the play.

ROLES

Sephy – young female (Black) roles

Playing age: 13 to 21.
Sephy is a young black character from a privileged background. Must have good RP.
Experience of spoken-word poetry delivery would be an advantage.
Ideally some proven physical theatre/devising experience.

Callum – and other young male (White) roles

Playing Age: 15 - 23.
Callum is a white working-class character.
Experience of spoken-word poetry delivery would be an advantage.
Ideally some proven physical theatre/devising experience.

DATES:

Rehearsing in York from Monday 15th August 2022.
Opening at York Theatre Royal 16th September 2022

Touring Nationally to venues including Northern Stage, Liverpool Playhouse, The Lowry, Oxford Playhouse and Richmond Theatre.

There will be a break in the touring schedule from the end of November and a Spring tour will resume in January 2023.

How to apply:

Your videos should be uploaded to a video-hosting website such as YouTube or Vimeo and set to unlisted or private (accessible by password), or you can upload your video to your preferred file hosting service such as WeTransfer.

Once your video is uploaded, please send us a link alongside your CV to:

[email protected]. Applications close at 10am on Monday 30th May.

 

Please note, we are not expecting or requiring professionally filmed videos.  Self-tapes on smartphones are completely fine.

If you do not have access to any kind of video camera or are struggling to upload your video please contact us on the above email address and we will be happy to help.

We are anticipating a high number of submissions for these roles and as such if you haven’t heard from us by July 1st, regrettably we will not be able to take your submission further on this occasion – we are committed to viewing and considering every application we receive and we are grateful to everyone for your interest and investment in the project.
