A Guide to Now for those in the Future

A time capsule created by the young people of today.

This unique installation remixes collected footage and interviews in a vibrant explosion of sight and sound. A Guide to Now for those in the Future explores the emotions, thoughts, and dreams of young people captured in fleeting moments, snap shots and passing interviews.

A Guide to Now for those in the Future is supported Portakabin Community Support Fund and York Common Good Trust.

Sound Installation

This sound installation aspect of the project, recorded in 2024, includes collected interviews with 300 young people from across England edited together with a score by composer May Chi.

We are inviting primary and secondary schools in York to take part in this project for free, and contribute filmed content to the installation during September and October 2025.
